[0040] The present invention will be further described below in conjunction with the drawings and implementation examples.

[0041] The equipment in the wireless indoor positioning system provided by the present invention is such as figure 1 As shown, there are mainly three categories as follows:

[0042] Reference point with known location: This type of device has a known location and sends wireless signals to other nodes, usually the access point of a wireless local area network, the base station of a cordless phone system, or a sensor node with a known location in a wireless sensor network. In an indoor positioning system, usually more than 4 reference points are required to ensure the accuracy of the three-dimensional positioning.

[0043] Mobile device: The location of this type of device is unknown and it moves indoors. The mobile device sends the strength of the wireless signal from the received reference point to the positioning server for location calculation.

Abstract

The invention discloses a wireless indoor positioning method capable of automatically learning the distribution of the signal receiving intensity. The theory adopted by the method is that: a wireless signal propagation model and a parameter are taken as an initial distribution curve of the field intensity; in the operating process of a system, a mobile equipment continuously learns a distribution function of the field intensity by the received signal receiving intensity and an EM (expectation maximum) algorithm, and the exact distribution curve of the field intensity is obtained. After the new distribution curve of the field intensity is obtained, the position of the mobile equipment is estimated through adopting an MMSE (minimum mean square error) statistical estimation algorithm. The provided method is characterized in that: the tedious calibrating process of the wireless positioning system is avoided; when the system is changed, the recalibration can be automatically carried out; and the installation and the maintenance costs of the positioning system are greatly reduced. The positioning method is suitable for various indoor positioning systems using wireless signals, such as a wireless local area network, a wireless sensor network, a Bluetooth or mobile phone network, and the like.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of wireless indoor positioning, uses wireless signal receiving strength to perform device positioning, in particular to a wireless indoor positioning method capable of automatically learning the distribution of signal receiving strength. Background technique [0002] Indoor positioning technology is a technology to obtain the location information of people and objects in an indoor environment. Indoor positioning technology has a wide range of applications in many fields, such as museum guides, shopping guides, item tracking, smart buildings, robots, ubiquitous computing, and logistics. Because buildings have a strong shielding effect on wireless signals, satellite-based positioning systems such as GPS cannot work normally indoors. The current indoor positioning technology mainly refers to the technology of using indoor wireless signals for positioning. These wireless signals include wireless local area netw...
