Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the production of a curled synthetic thread, according to which a viscous melt of a polymer is extruded into a plurality of filaments. The melt index of propene polymer (PP)-based polymer melt is within the value range of 10-50 when being extruded, or the viscosity of PET-based polymer melt is higher than 220 Pa.s when being extruded. After hardening inside a cooling path, the plurality of filaments are merged into a filament bundle. The filament bundle is extracted with a spin velocity, and is accelerated to a treatment velocity. The filament bundle is subsequently curled with false twist texturizing and wound onto a spool. In order to achieve an optimum between processing stability and curling, the spin velocity during the extraction of the filaments and the treatment velocity for the stretching of the filaments are adjusted to each other in such a way, according to the invention, that the filaments have a permanent elongation in the neighborhood of between 20% and 80% before the false twist texturizing. The spinning speed of the filament bundle is selected within the range of 150-400 m / min. After being extruded, the filaments are cooled within the path of 500-2000 mm and are combined into a filament bundle.
