The method comprises the steps of: dividing a heating pipe in a dryer into a front section and a rear section or the front section, a middle section and a rear section from an inlet to an outlet; introducing high-temperature heating medium into the rear section of the heating pipe to dry sludge of the rear section; and introducing steam produced during the drying of the sludge of the rear section into the front section or / and the middle section of the heating pipe to dry sludge of the front section or / and the middle section. The method and the device only use the high-temperature heating medium to directly heat partial sludge in the dryer, and other heating medium adopts the steam produced during the heating of the sludge which is directly heated for recycling, so the energy consumption can be greatly saved, and the utilization rate of the heat is improved.
