The invention discloses a method for realizing HQoS on a network processor and the network processor, wherein the method comprises the following steps: a configuration module configures an HQoS strategy according to the processing capability of a flux management device, sends the strategy to a drive detection module and binds the HQoS strategy on a port needing HQoS deployment; the drive detectionmodule roughly calculates the stream ID of the data streams corresponding to each node according to the HQoS strategy, fills the IDs into corresponding HQoS items, and configures the TM according tothe HQoS strategy; a micro-code module reads the stream ID and fills the stream ID into the corresponding register of the TM; and the TM carries out corresponding management and deployment on the datastreams passing the port according to the filled stream ID.
