[0021] Figure 1 shows a known type of cable C1. The cable has three insulated conductors 1 , 2 and 3 each comprising a conductor 4 and an insulation 5 . The cable is surrounded by a sheath 6 and has a shielding strip 7 on each of the insulated conductors between the insulation and the sheath.

[0022] Cable C1 can be used as figure 2 The suspension device H1 shown is suspended between posts. The suspension device has a cage 21 with clamps 22 tightened by bolts 23 for holding said cable C1. The cage also has wheels 24 on which the cable can roll when installed. image 3 The strapping device S1 is shown with an elastic wire 31 which is helically rotated around the cable and fastened to a ring 32 . One end of the cable C1 can be held by the tie and by pulling on said loop 32 the cable is stretched. The wire is then tightened around the cable and prevents the cable from slipping out of the binding device S1.

Abstract

The invention refers to an electrical cable (C5) with three insulated conductors (51,52,53), a tube (58) for an optical cable, a strip (57) of elastic material embedding the tube and a jacket (56). When the cable (C5) is handled, e.g. suspended between poles or dredged into the ground, the tube (58) can be deformed by external forces. This makes it impossible to blow or float the optical cable into the tube. The tube (58) is protected by the strip (57) and especially by the strip having a flat interval (15) in proximity to the tube. External forces from e.g. suspension equipment will mainly deform the strip (57) at the ends of the interval (15) and less of the forces will hit the tube (58). The deformation sets up an interior pressure in the strip that acts in sideward direction on the tube and contributes to keep it round and non deformed.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to cables with tubes for optical cables. Background technique [0002] According to the prior art, cables for power transmission can be combined with optical cables in the same cable. This combination can be performed in different ways and in common designs the cables are equipped with plastic tubes. The tube may be arranged in the area between the insulated electrical conductor and the cable sheath. When the cable has been installed, the cable is blown into the tube with air or floated into the tube with water. [0003] In international application WO 97 / 40504 a self-supporting cable is described which has a shielding band around an insulated electrical conductor which effectively protects the cable when it is suspended from a fixed point. The cables can be equipped with tubes in the aforementioned areas. International application WO 2004 / 006272 describes a cable having a shielding strip of partially conductive material which...
