Abstract

The invention discloses an inter-cell synchronization method and a base station for saving resources of a system. The inter-cell synchronization method provided by the invention comprises the following steps: a non-synchronous cell periodically searches a synchronization signal from a synchronous cell within the bandwidth range of the synchronization signals of a system; and the non-synchronous cell carries out synchronization with the synchronous cell according to the searched synchronization signal from the synchronous cell. The base station provided by the invention comprises a periodic synchronization signal search unit which is used for periodically searching the synchronization signal from the synchronous cell within the bandwidth range of the synchronization signals of the system; and a periodic synchronization unit which is used for carrying out synchronization with the synchronous cell according to the searched synchronization signal from the synchronous cell. The method and the base station are used for implementing the inter-cell synchronization, thereby saving the resources of the system, simplifying the inter-cell synchronization process, reducing the inter-cell interference and improving the performances of the system.
