Abstract

The invention provides a low-cost data storage method. Storage resources are integrated, and two mainstream protocols of FC and iSCSI present SAN (storage area network) are coordinated, so as to realize high-reliability available data storage at low cost, thereby exerting the respective advantages of the FC and the IP-SAN, and achieving the optimal cost performance of the data storage. The system structure of the low-cost data storage method comprises a data storage unit, a storage protocol conversion unit, a high-speed exchanging unit and an application server unit. A system maps the whole or partial space of the original storage system to the storage protocol conversion unit by the FC protocol, the storage protocol conversion unit carries out secondary mapping on the space by the iSCSI protocol and finally maps to an application server by an Ethernet switch, the primary FC mapping is realized by FC Target software of the FC storage system, and the secondary mapping is realized by the iSCSI Target software.
