Abstract

The invention relates to a whole smoke trapping and a method for measuring pH value thereof, belonging to the technical field of tobacco chemical analysis. The method for measuring trapped whole smoke and saliva absorption liquid pH value thereof comprises: 20 cigarettes to be measured are loaded on a smoking machine and are smoked under the standard smoking condition; two collision catchers which are respectively filled with 50 mL of artificial saliva are connected in series to adsorb whole smoke; a holder provided with a Cambridge filter is connected behind the catchers to adsorb residual particulate matters; after a cigarette is completely smoked, the filter is put into a 150 mL conical flask with a plug; trapping liquid in two stages of catchers is poured into the conical flask with the plug and mixed and covered by the plug; then, the conical flask is vibrated for 30 min on a percussion table; and the pH value of mixed liquid is measured with a precise acidometer to serve as the pH value of the mainstream smoke absorption liquid of cigarette. The invention has the advantages that whole smoke containing gas phase matter and liquid phase matter is trapped and adsorbed; and artificial saliva trapping can effectively simulate cigarette smoking practical situation. The measuring method is simple and accurate.
