The invention discloses a method and system for directly recycling red mud alkali. The method comprises the following steps that: (1) red mud is leached with alkaline circulating water as leaching water, and the pH or conductivity of a leacheate is detected; (2) evaporation and concentration are performed when the pH or concentration of the leacheate is relatively high; (3) when the pH or concentration of the leachate is small, the leachate is used as alkaline circulating water, and fresh water is used as leaching water to leach the red mud; and (4) leaching is stopped when the pH value of theleachate reaches a set value. The system comprises a leaching pool; leaching spray heads are distributed at the top of the leaching pool; each spray head is connected with an alkaline circulating water storage tank and a condensate water storage tank through liquid conveying pipes; a pH meter is arranged at the liquid outlet of the leaching pool and is connected with a high-pH leachate storage tank and the alkaline circulating water storage tank through liquid inlet valves; the liquid outlet of the high-pH leachate storage tank is connected with an MVR evaporator; and the MVR evaporator is connected with a condensate water storage tank and a second evaporator. Additional components are not needed. The method and system have the advantages of simple treatment process, high treatment efficiency, good effect, and low cost.
