Abstract

The invention provides a method for calculating the availability of an enterprise application system. On the aspect of a computer system, the availability of a server is defined as MTTF / (MTTF+MTTR)*100% (MTTFL: Mean Time to Failures; MTTR: Mean Time to Repair), i.e. the percentage of the time for the system to maintain normal operation. The availability of the server can be measured by MTTF, i.e. the mean time taken by the computer system to encounter one fault after normal operation; and the higher the reliability of the server is, the longer the MTTF is. Maintainability is measured by MTTR, i.e. the mean time taken by repairing and restoring to normal operation after the system breaks down; and the better the maintainability of the system is, the shorter the MTTF is. The invention provides the method for calculating the availability of the enterprise application system.
