Abstract

The camera comprises an image collection module, a passenger counting module and a communication module. The method comprises the following steps: the image collection module collects site image video data in real time and transmits the video data to the passenger flow counting module; the passenger flow counting module models the background of the received image video data, divides a motion region by a frame differential method, extracts the passenger number information by further using a passenger number template matching algorithm, tracks the motion in the passenger number region and counts if the passenger number region exceeds a preset virtual door. By implanting the complex passenger flow counting function in the front-end camera, the invention reduces the load of a server, improves the processing instantaneity and the reaction speed of a monitoring system, reduces the deployment of an external intelligent processing server and reduces the investment cost.
