Abstract

The invention discloses a method for passing a token in a token ring network, which is used for carrying out communication in the network by way of token passing, wherein the network comprises a plurality of communicating nodes, and the communicating nodes are annularly connected by an Ethernet network. The method comprises the following steps: (a) a source node acquires the token for obtaining acommunication right so as to carry out data transmission, then passes the token to a target node; (b) when the token passing fails, the source node backups an ordered queue thereof; and (c) when somenode in receive status in the network finds that a new neighbor node passes the token, the ordered queue is replaced by the backup ordered queue. Through backuping TPQ and comparing the positions of the new neighbor node and a subsequent node, the invention has the advantages of ensuring the dynamics maintenance of the network token passing process when a wireless channel changes abruptly, and guaranteeing the minimum passing hops and the minimum passing time, thereby improving the token passing efficiency and the network data transmission performance.
