Abstract

A stereoscopic image display device comprises a display panel and a lens panel disposed on one surface of the display panel, wherein the lens panel includes a lower substrate, a lower electrode layer having plural electrodes on one surface of the lower substrate, a liquid crystal layer that can be tilted to forin a lens e.g. Fresnel lens, an upper substrate, and an upper electrode layer disposed on one surface of the upper substrate and having a pattern of omissions where parts of electrodes are omitted in areas corresponding to a discontinuities of the lens. The lower electrode layer may comprise two layers of electrodes. Electric fields are generated between the electrodes to tilt the liquid crystal layer.
