The invention provides a multi-user precoding method and a system, a transmitter and a receiver. The method comprises the following steps: presetting a codebook set including codebooks with normalized amplitude; normalizing the amplitude component of channel information after the receiver estimates the channel information from the transmitter to the receiver, and selecting a codebook most similar to the normalized channel information from the codebook set as the quantized channel information; and acquiring the quantized channel information of a plurality of receivers, and precoding the downlink data of the plurality of receivers based on the quantized channel information by using the transmitter. The scheme in the invention can effectively enlarge the capacity of a multi-user system.
