Abstract

An apparatus for communication supporting a first spread spectrum channel and a second spread spectrum channel, each of the first channel and the second channel being based on a different pseudorandom sequence. The device is also used to select one of the first channel and the second channel for communication, so as to avoid information collisions that would otherwise occur based on the pseudo-random sequences of the first channel and the second channel.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates generally to wireless communications and, more particularly, to various techniques for reducing the probability of collision of information communicated over multiple wireless connections supported by a wireless node. Background technique [0002] Peer-to-peer networks are often used to connect multiple wireless nodes. These networks differ from the traditional client-server model, where communication is typically with a central server. A peer-to-peer network has only equivalent peer nodes that communicate directly with each other. Such networks can be used for many purposes. For example, a peer-to-peer network can be used as a consumer electronics wire replacement system for short-range or indoor applications. These networks, often referred to as Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs), facilitate the efficient transfer of video, audio, voice, text and other media between multiple wireless nodes in the network.
