The method comprises the following steps that: the LTE single-card dual-standby multimode terminal reports to a switch source system that the single-card dual-standby ability is available through a measurement report in a switch preparation stage; before a downlink channel between the LTE single-card dual-standby multimode terminal and a switch target system is established, the LTE single-card dual-standby multimode terminal receives downlink data from a base station of the switch source system; after the downlink channel between the LTE single-card dual-standby multimode terminal and the switch target system is established and the original data path of the switch source system is removed, the LTE single-card dual-standby multimode terminal finishes the PS service switch between an LTE system and a 2G/3G system; and the LTE single-card dual-standby multimode terminal closes a service channel of the switch source system and receives a downlink data stream from the switch target system. Through the invention, the switch delay of data service is reduced, and the switch interruption of the data service is avoided; and moreover, a network element does not need to establish a transfer channel when in switching, thus the efficiency of network resources is improved.
