Problems solved by technology

Therefore, even if the distance between nodes is smaller than the communication range of nodes, packet loss may be caused due to the influence of bit errors
In the case of a high bit error packet loss rate, if the packet loss is regarded as an indication of network congestion and the congestion control is activated, the window will always be kept at a small value, which will degrade the system performance.

Embodiment Construction

[0017] In order to overcome the impact of routing switching and packet loss on the TCP transmission performance in the vehicular communication network, the present invention proposes a TCP congestion control method based on cross-layer design in the vehicular communication network VC-TCP (Vehicular Cross-layer Transmission Control Protocol, In-vehicle cross-layer TCP), this method combines the network layer and the transport layer for cross-layer optimization to solve the TCP transmission performance degradation caused by the inability to distinguish link congestion, route switching, and error packet loss in the in-vehicle communication network.

[0018]According to the empirical model of VANET channel packet loss rate, when the communication distance is small, the number of vehicles in the communication range is small, and the channel quality is good and stable; as the distance increases, the number of vehicles in the communication range increases, and various interference fact...

Abstract

The invention discloses a transmission control protocol (TCP) congestion control mechanism VC-TCP (vehicular cross-layer transmission control protocol) based on cross-layer design in a vehicle communication network and relates to the wireless communication field. In the invention, a network layer is combined with a transmission layer so as to perform cross-layer optimization. Firstly, useful vehicle operation information is provided for the network layer so that the network layer can predict a channel state in a routing process. Then a VC bit is added in a TCO header and is used to indicate the channel state. The network layer records the channel state in the VC bit through cross-layer communication. A TCP sending terminal rapidly distinguishes a packet loss reason according to the VC bit. Finally, based on a four state transfer diagram of the cross-layer design, a traditional TCP congestion control algorithm is improved and different congestion control strategies are used in different packet loss situations. By using the method of the invention, TCP transmission performance in the vehicle communication network can be improved. Advantages are obvious especially under the conditions of high speed mobile of a node, frequent change of topology and bad channel quality.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention mainly relates to the field of wireless communication, in particular to the problem of TCP transmission performance in the vehicle communication network. Background technique [0002] In recent years, the explosive growth of vehicles and the ubiquitous information demand have closely combined the communication network and the transportation network, and the vehicle communication network has emerged as the times require, and has become a research hotspot. The vehicle communication network is divided into two parts: RVC (Road to Vehicle Communications, road vehicle communication) and IVC (Inter-Vehicle Communication, inter-vehicle communication). RVC enables vehicles to access the Internet and obtain network resources through road infrastructure or mobile base stations; while IVC installs wireless communication equipment on vehicles to enable vehicles to form an ad hoc network through multi-hops, that is, VANET (Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks). ...
