Abstract

The invention discloses a multi-card multi-standby mobile terminal and a communication method thereof. The mobile terminal comprises a physical layer, an access layer positioned above the physical layer, a non-access layer and an application layer, wherein the access layer comprises each network mode access layer corresponding to each card; the non-access layer comprises a non-access layer corresponding to each card; the physical layer comprises various network mode physical layers connected with a radio frequency device, and a coordination module coupled with the various network mode physical layers; based on a resided network mode request corresponding to each card, the network mode physical layer corresponding to the request is activated; and the activated network mode physical layer is coupled with the radio frequency device. The method comprises the following steps: obtaining the current network mode resided by one card; and when the network modes requested to reside by other cards are different from the other network modes of the current network mode, deactivating the current network mode physical layer, and activating the physical layer corresponding to other network modes, so that other cards are resided in other network modes. According to the invention, the purpose that each card can be subjected to standby in different network modes can be realized.
