Abstract

The brushless DC motor 1 has a plurality of electrical windings 2 and a control circuit 3 connected to the plurality of electrical windings. Said control circuit 3 comprises: switching means 4 for the time-dependent application of the voltage from the external power supply UB to the winding 2; measuring means 5 for generating an electrical signal dependent on the current IB from the external power supply UB through the control circuit 3 ; and an overcurrent fuse 6 for protecting the control circuit 3 and the winding 2 .
