[0029] The present invention relates to a method and system for managing communication from a wireless universal serial bus (WUSB) device conforming to a wireless USB specification or protocol to a WUSB host. These WUSB devices may include, for example, a device cable adapter (DWA) or native WUSB devices. The method of the present invention generally involves providing improved buffer management in devices with synchronous IN endpoints that communicate with the host on a channel or pipe. More precisely, this method enables WUSB sync IN endpoints or devices with such endpoints to use less memory to buffer data compared to other buffering technologies (such as the buffer method shown in Figures 1 and 2). The buffer management method of the present invention also allows endpoints to encapsulate WUSB synchronization packets more flexibly and support other desired features with less complexity, such as dynamic switching and continuous upgradeability.
