The notification method comprises the following steps of: detecting whether own address information is changed or not; and when the condition that the own address information is changed is detected, transmitting an address change notification message to client equipment in the DLNA, wherein the address change notification message comprises equipment identification information and updated equipment address information. Thus, server-side equipment is not required for transmitting two messages, i.e. logout and re-login, a user interface (UI) is not required for being refreshed, the no address change perception and no business interruption of the server-side equipment for users are realized, and the user experience is improved when the address of a server side in the DLNA is changed.
