Abstract

The invention relates to a protection assembly including a protection module (20) that comprises at least one varistor (1) having an operation power threshold. A cutoff apparatus (21), connected to the protection module (20), includes a release mechanism (24), the means (33) for mechanically actuating said module being interconnected to the release means (24) for opening contacts. The disconnection means comprises a thermal disconnection means that includes: a first power threshold (S1) for disconnecting electrical currents less than a first current level (11); a second power threshold (S2) for disconnecting currents between a first and second intermediate current level (12A, 12B); and a third power threshold (S3) for disconnecting currents greater than a third current level (13).
