Abstract

The timing to control the directivity of an antenna is recognized by a receiver apparatus and thereafter an optimum antenna beam is formed at that timing. Provided is a communication apparatus comprising: a first wireless communication unit capable of performing a wireless communication in accordance with a first communication mode; and a second wireless communication unit capable of performing a wireless communication in accordance with a second communication mode using a higher frequency band than the first communication mode. The second wireless communication unit decides, based on a time point at which a predetermined control signal is received by the first wireless communication unit, a reception timing to receive a beacon transmitted in accordance with the second communication mode, and further forms, at the decided reception timing, a reception beam having the directivity learned in advance.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a communication device, a communication control method and a communication system. Background technique [0002] Recently, a new communication method has been developed. This communication method uses high-frequency electromagnetic waves called millimeter waves to increase the communication speed of wireless communication. Millimeter waves are considered to have a wavelength of 10 mm to 1 mm and a frequency of 30 GHz to 300 GHz, so that channels can be allocated in the frequency band of 60 GHz in GHz units, for example. [0003] In general, millimeter waves are characterized by more robust straight-line travel and greater return loss than microwaves. Therefore, the wireless communication path in millimeter wave communication is mainly a direct wave or a wave that is reflected once. Furthermore, millimeter waves are characterized by large free space propagation losses (short reach of radio waves). Therefore, in the c...
