The invention discloses an auxiliary mechanism of a stair cleaning machine, applied to being matched with a drive motor, a chain transmission mechanism and a track crawling mechanism to complete motions of going up and down stairs, wherein the auxiliary mechanism comprises a first friction wheel, a second friction wheel, a gear, a rack, a rotary connecting rod, a connecting rod crank, a lifting shaft and a lifting shaft crank; the first friction wheel is connected with the drive motor which drives the track crawling mechanism through the chain transmission mechanism; when going up the stairs, the second friction wheel is in contact with the first friction wheel and the gear is in contact with the rack; and when going down the stairs, the lifting shaft crank drives the rotary connecting rod to rotate under the movement of the lifting shaft and is kept balanced through the connecting rod crank. The mechanism of going up the stairs of the friction wheels and gear-rack transmission and the mechanism of going down the stairs of two cranks are employed, so that the auxiliary mechanism of the stair cleaning machine is high in loading capability and not easy to slip when going up the stairs in cooperation with the track and simpler and more practical in structure while going down the stairs in cooperation with the track based on the characteristics of engagement of the gear and the rack and the connection of the two cranks.
