Abstract

A tool to aid in decision-making in the logistics of bulk product shipments. For example, the tool can be used to solve problems involving the transportation and inventory management of crude oil, where crude oil is transported by fleet of ships between supply ports and discharge ports. The tool is capable of handling typical petroleum product transportation problems which can be very complex. The tool uses advanced modeling and optimization techniques to find solutions (optimal or near-optimal) for bulk product allocation, vehicle routing, vehicle scheduling, and / or bulk product blending operations.
