The method comprises following steps that after the mobile terminal receives a new message, if the new message is judged to be unable to be saved to a pre-distribution saving space of an information type to which the new message is subject to but able to be saved to an expansion space, the new message is saved into the expansion space. The expansion space is used for saving the new message, so that the problem that the new message cannot be received and saved by the pre-distribution saving space of the mobile terminal can be solved, the information loss probability is reduced, and the user experience is improved.
