Problems solved by technology

[0005] (1) The optical fiber is cut off or the signal quality of the optical path is degraded;
[0006] (2) The optical module is faulty or the transceiver performance is degraded;
[0007] (3) OLT or ONU hardware failure
The disadvantages of this solution are: the ONU structure of the dual PON MAC is relatively complex, and the power consumption and cost are high; it is usually necessary to manually ensure that the configuration data of the two PON MACs are exactly the same, and the workload of device activation and maintenance is relatively large

Embodiment Construction

[0054] The present invention will be described in further detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0055] Such as figure 2 , 3 As shown, in the hand-in-hand protection switching method in the EPON access system of the present invention, a single PON MAC is used on the user side to be equipped with a double-optical module type optical network unit ONU, and a hand-in-hand protection is established on the optical line terminals OLT at both ends. Protection group (the meaning of "both ends" here refers to the mutual protection of both ends of the OLT configured by the user through the network management system NMS), and the two PON ports on the two ends of the OLT are classified into a hand-in-hand protection group to achieve 1+ 1 full protection,

[0056] After the hand-in-hand protection group is successfully created, the user sends the ONU configuration data to any OLT in the protection group through the network management system NMS.

Abstract

The invention relates to a hand-in-hand protection switching method and system in an EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network). At a user side, a single PON MAC (media access control entity) is combined with a double-optical module ONU (optical network unit), a hand-in-hand protection group is established on each OLT (optical line terminal) at each of two ends, and (1+1) whole protection is realized, after the protection groups are successively established, a user sends configuration data of the ONU to any one of OLTs through an NMS (network management system), two PON ports of the ONU are respectively connected to corresponding PON ports of the OLTs at two ends, and when a fault exists, the ONU completes fault detection, switches to the PON port at the other side to continuously work from the currently working PON port, is free of registration in the switching process, and reports the switching event after the switching is completed. The method and system provdied by the invention adopts the ONU of a PON MAC type, and combines the functions of configuration management, switching control, data synchronization and state maintenance of the OLT, thus realizing stable and reliable hand-in-hand protection switching and greatly reducing power consumption and cost.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to hand-in-hand protection switching (PON protection switching in Ethernet passive optical network) in EPON access system (abbreviated as EPON system), specifically a hand-in-hand protection switching method in EPON access system and system. Background technique [0002] Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) is a low-cost, high-capacity new optical fiber access network technology that integrates common Ethernet technology and cheap passive optical devices. It adopts point-to-multipoint structure, passive optical fiber transmission, and can support multiple services such as data, voice and video at the same time. Therefore, it combines the advantages of PON technology and Ethernet technology: low cost, high bandwidth, high scalability, strong compatibility, convenient management, and flexible service bearing methods. [0003] A typical EPON system (EPON access system) consists of an Optical Line Terminal (OLT), an Optic...
