The COT sharing information identifies the starting point and duration (e.g., number of consecutive slots) of the unused portion of the MCOT. This information is then encoded into a configured grant uplink control information (UG-UCI) and transmitted to the gNB as part of an uplink transmission. In aspects, the unused portion can be partially through a slot. In such cases, the starting symbol of the unused portion or the ending symbol of the used portion can also be encoded into the uplink transmission. In this way, the unused COT is not wasted, but rather used for other purposes by the gNB.
