Abstract

The invention provides a method, device and ATCA (Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture) carrier board for dynamically allocating power to an AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card), aiming at providing a strategy for dynamically allocating the power to a system which adopts the AMC with various rated powers, wherein the method comprises a step of monitoring the actual power obtained by the AMC, a step of comparing the actual power obtained by the AMC with the rated power of the AMC and a step of adjusting an actual power value allocated to the AMC for the enablement of the AMC under the condition that the actual power allocated to the AMC is less than the rated power of the AMC; if the system is an ATCA system, when the AMC is plugged into the ATCA carrier board for the first time, a power detection module detects the total power consumption of the ATCA carrier board and the AMC and an IPMC (Intelligent Platform Management Controller) adjusts the power of the ATCA carrier board according to the total power consumption; and when the ATCA carrier board and the AMC are located in a normal working state, the power monitoring module monitors the powers of the AMC and the ATCA carrier board in real time for the realization of intelligent electricity supply management on the ATCA carrier board. With the adoption of the ATCA carrier board and the electricity power allocation method of the AMC, the powering-on debugging of the ATCA carrier board and the AMC and the exertion of the maximum performance of the system are facilitated.
