Abstract

A continuous mud pouring pipe is inserted in each vertical main mud delivery pipe and connected with each horizontal mud pouring pipe. Thixotropic mud is poured to the outer side of the well wall in a pressing mode through pre-burying the mud pouring pipes in the well wall, so that friction resistance on an outer well wall is remarkably reduced and sink-assisting effect is achieved. The thixotropic mud depends on two factors to maintain a soil body to be stable. One factor is static force action of the thixotropic mud to the soil body and the static force action is fundamentally distributed along a triangle. The other factor is a gel state of the thixotropic mud, namely, molecular arrangement of the thixotropic mud forms a certain mesh-shaped structure frame and the value of the frame is related to static shearing force of the thixotropic mud and a certain pressure. Therefore, the thixotropic mud plays roles of reducing the friction resistance and maintaining soil wall stability in sinking process of the open caisson.
