A process for accommodating, improving or transmuting random static and dynamic human functions to an object is provided. A device is selected which includes a proximal member and a distal member which articulate relative to one another at an interface. Energy is transmitted through the interface with a predetermined and variable efficacy. The interface is configured to permit static force to have perpendicular and parallel components relative to a primary plane of the interface and to permit a dynamic force to have a parallel component relative to the primary plane. An inertia at the interface is affected in terms of positive or negative affinity between the members and a proximity of the members to one another at the interface such that either the static or dynamic forces attract the members to one another at the interface, such that either the static or dynamic forces attract the members toward one another at the interface urging a contact whereby a tendency for a motion of one member relative to another at the interface is resisted and a tendency for the interface between the members to remain in a statically opposed position is assisted. The large frozen soil direct shear apparatus which comprises a shear box, a refrigeration system of an upper shear box, a refrigeration system of a lower shear box, a vertical servo loading and monitoring system, a horizontal servo loading and monitoring system, and a measurement and control system is to determine the shear strength of the freeze-thaw interface of the frozen soil or determine the shear strength of full frozen soil and full thawy soil. The size of a frozen soil sample in the embodiment of the invention is 305mm*305mm*200mm, static force and a layered compacting method are adopted to prepare remolded soil samples of different initial water contents and dry densities for shear tests; temperature control systems of the upper shear box and the lower shear box are adjusted to control the temperatures of soils in the shearboxes to guarantee the shear plane to be superposed with the freeze-thaw interface of the frozen soil sample. The direct shear apparatus of the present invention solves problems that the difficulty of testing the shear strength of the freeze-thaw interface is large, the shear tests of coarse grain soil are difficult and the like and provides reasonable design parameters for civil engineering and traffic engineering in cold or highly cold regions.

The maximum clearance size of the loading frame is 4.5m* 4.5m*4.5m (L*W*H); a testing space can be randomly adjusted according to test sample requirements; a loading mode is that vertical and horizontal combined loading can be finished through two 10-100 t static vertical actuators and 3-20t dynamic horizontal actuators; integral or member stress performance tests of the high pile frame wharf structure with large water level difference under a combined effect of various complicated working conditions such as gantry crane load, piling load and ship load are simulated. The invention further provides a dynamic and static testing method for the wharf structure, which can be used for really simulating the stressed deformation performances of the wharf structure under various complicated stressed conditions and can be also used in stress experiments of similar structures.
