Abstract

Provided are a self-correcting system and method for a clock-generating circuit. The system comprises a hardware logic module, a register module connected to the hardware logic module, a clock-generating circuit module connected to the hardware logic module and the register module, and a storage module connected bi-directionally to the register module. The hardware logic module generates search data and transmits same as the configuration parameter for the clock-generating circuit module to the register module; the register module outputs register data to the clock-generating circuit module and generates a system clock signal and transmits same to the hardware logic module; the system clock signal is compared to an external reference clock signal; as long as the precision requirement is not met, the search data is corrected and new search data is generated for a new round of correction; when the precision requirement is met, the hardware logic module stops the correction and the current search data is stored to the storage module. The present invention can automatically lower the error of the clock-generating circuit in an electronic system to be within a required error range.
