Abstract

A fuel injection assembly for use in a turbine engine is provided. The fuel injection assembly includes a plurality of tube assemblies wherein each of the plurality of tube assemblies includes a plurality of tubes. At least one injection system is coupled to at least one tube assembly of the plurality of tube assemblies. The injection system includes a fluid supply member that is positioned a predefined distance upstream from the tube assembly. The fluid supply member includes a first portion that includes at least one first opening for delivering fluid toward the tube assembly for reducing dynamic pressure oscillations within a combustor and / or reducing NOx emission within the combustor during operation of the turbine engine.

Description

[0001] Federal Investigation Statement [0002] The present invention was made with government support under Contract No. DE-FC26-05NT42643 awarded by the Department of Energy (DOE), and the government has certain rights in the invention. Technical field [0003] The subject matter disclosed in the present invention relates generally to turbine engines, and more specifically, to fuel injection assemblies for use in turbine engines. Background technique [0004] At least some known turbine generators are used in cogeneration facilities and power plants. Such engines may have high requirements for specific work and power per unit of mass flow. In order to improve operating efficiency, at least some known turbine engines, such as gas turbine engines, operate at elevated combustion temperatures. In at least some known gas turbine engines, as the temperature of the combustion gases increases, the efficiency of the engine increases. [0005] However, operating at higher temperatures may ...
