Abstract

The invention discloses a method for determining the content of 3-ethyl-2-methyl-2-(3-methylbutyl)-1,3-oxazolidine. The 3-ethyl-2-methyl-2-(3-methylbutyl)-1,3-oxazolidine is prone to be subjected to hydrolysis reaction with water, thus generating N-ethylethanolamine and isoheptanone. The method comprises the following steps: taking a right amount of sample, adding a small amount of water to serve as reactant, sufficiently reacting to generate N-ethylethanolamine and isoheptanone, and diluting to the specified volume with organic solvent; taking one part of the solution, dewatering with anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtering through a film, and performing qualitative analysis on the hydrolysis products N-ethylethanolamine and isoheptanone with a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer; and taking the other part of the sample, analyzing with a headspace gas chromatograph, and determining the content of the isoheptanone to quantitatively calculate the content of the 3-ethyl-2-methyl-2-(3-methylbutyl)-1,3-oxazolidine.
