Abstract

The invention provides a method for simulating a child facial shape. The method comprises the following steps of acquiring full face photos of a child in different age groups; according to the acquired photos, calculating statistical distribution of facial features of the child during growth according to the age; extracting feature points from the facial photos of the child at a first age and recording positions of the feature points; predicting positions of the feature points at a second age; calculating the corresponding relation between the positions of the feature points at the second age and the positions of the feature points at the first age, performing texture mapping on the facial photos of the target child at the first age to simulate the facial photos of the target child at the second age according to the corresponding relation. According to the method, statistical distribution of features at different ages can be obtained through processing, the positions of the corresponding features in the second age can be predicted through the statistical distribution, then the facial photos of the child at the second age can be simulated, therefore, individual variation is reflected fully, and accuracy of simulation is improved.
