Abstract

Systems and methods for manufacturing advanced composite laminates include a tape distribution system, a tape placement head, and a tooling surface. A tape section is formed and moved through the tape section guide with a gripping assembly. The strip section guidance system is suspended above the tooling surface. Once the tape section is positioned at a desired location on the tool surface, the tape bonding device bonds or otherwise attaches the tape section to the tool surface or another underlying tape section.
