The embodiment of the invention relates to the medical technical field and discloses a detecting system for small animal fear behaviors. The detecting system comprises a photostimulation device, a behavior testing box and a video device. The photostimulation device comprises an implanted optical fiber ferrule, an optical fiber and a laser generator. The implanted optical fiber ferrule is installed on the head of a tested animal in the behavior testing box. The laser generator is connected with the implanted optical fiber ferrule through the optical fiber and is used for sending a laser signal when the tested animal conducts the foraging behavior so as to enable the implanted optical fiber ferrule to lead the laser signal into the head of the tested animal injected with an photogenetic virus in advance, and optical genetic simulation is conducted on the tested animal. The video device is used for collecting the behaviors of the tested animal and obtaining the behavior information of the tested animal, and the behavior information is used for analyzing the fear behaviors of the tested animal. By the adoption of the detection system for the small animal fear behaviors, the testing accuracy of the fear behaviors of the tested animal can be improved.
