A method of managing a memory is provided that can quickly secure an available space. The method includes recording a compression ratio of data stored in a page of a main memory, and securing space of the main memory when the main memory has insufficient available space, by compressing data of at least one page among pages of the main memory, wherein the at least one page has a compression ratio of a standard value or greater and storing the compressed data in the main memory.
