The method disclosed by the embodiment of the invention comprises the steps of positioning an inner eye corner point of a target image, wherein the inner eye corner point an eye corner point at the near end of the nose in the horizontal direction; intercepting an eye region image in the target image according to the inner eye corner point; and calculating the gradient of pixel points in the eye region image according to difference in image gray scale of the eye region image, and determining the pupil center in the eye region image according to the gradient of the pixel points.
