Abstract

The invention provides a mammary X-ray image enhancement method comprising the steps that a mammary X-ray image is provided; and local normalization is performed on the local part in the mammary X-ray image so that image information corresponding to the local part can be enhanced. Local information is enhanced via local normalization so that implicit local information in the global image can be effectively enhanced, i.e. low intensity lesions can be effectively enhanced. Furthermore, local filtering is adopted after local normalization so that local contrast can be enhanced, adhesion between local objects can be suppressed and adhesion of the lesions and background tissues can be effectively suppressed.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of medical image processing, in particular to a method for enhancing mammogram images. Background technique [0002] Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women and the second leading cancer killer in women. Evidence shows that early diagnosis and treatment will effectively reduce mortality, and mammograms (Mammograms) are powerful tools for breast cancer screening. Computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) based on mammography images can help doctors locate suspicious lesions and effectively reduce the rate of missed and false detections. In the preprocessing of computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems of mammography images, it is very important to effectively enhance mass lesions. Mass lesions present various shapes in mammograms, with a wide range of sizes, uneven density, and poor contrast, and are often embedded in various tissue backgrounds with different characteristics and are difficult to distinguish. Effe...
