Abstract

The invention discloses a bearer setup method and device. The method comprises the following steps that: a terminal needs to newly set up a bearer in a switch process is determined; a switch request message is sent to a target base station, which the terminal is switched to, wherein a newly set bearer is carried in the switch request message; and the switch request message is used for enabling the target base station to set up all appointed bearers in the switch request message for the terminal. According to the technical scheme provided by the invention, a network side can simultaneously set up a voice bearer in the switch process of the terminal; therefore, the call dial rate is increased; the call setup time delay is shortened; and thus, the user experience is improved.
