Abstract

The invention relates to a video data packet transmission method and system based on a wireless network. The method comprises that a source node extracts metadata of a current video frame; the source node obtains the weights of the data packets in the current video frame according to the metadata and the types of video frame data packets; a forwarding node or a destination node schedules each data packet in different priority queues according to the weights of the data packets in the current video frame and the length of each priority queue, thus transmitting the video data packets; wherein the metadata comprise a video frame structure, a video frame type and the location of the video frame in a GOP (Group of Pictures); and each video frame is divided into a frame header data packet and frame content data packets. According to the method and the system provided by the invention, the data packet with the higher weight can be sent through the high priority queue in a greater probability; the probability of the data packet with the lower weight to compete for the high priority queue is relatively low; the channel utilization rate is improved; and the video transmission quality is improved.
