Abstract

The method for fastening or coupling dissimilar materials to each other may include providing a first part having a first through hole and a second part having a second through hole, the second through hole being connected to the first through hole at least partially aligned. A mixture comprising a first material and a second material may be injected into the aligned through-holes of the first component and the second component. The mixture of the first material and the second material may expand in the through hole, for example due to a chemical reaction, thereby connecting the first part and the second part together.

Description

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 133,991, filed March 16, 2015, and U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 150,848, filed April 22, 2015, both of which are The contents are hereby incorporated by reference for any purpose, use or requirement. technical field [0003] Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure relate to component fastening techniques, lightweight fastening methods for components, and may be used for fastening components such as electric vehicles. Background technique [0004] Techniques involving the fastening of dissimilar materials have become increasingly common in various industries and applications including, for example, the automotive and aerospace industries. However, one difficulty in fastening dissimilar materials is caused by galvanic corrosion. The phenomenon of galvanic corrosion due to dissimilar metal materials when they come into co...
