[0117] In an exemplary method, blood is first obtained from a recipient by any method known in the art. The plasma is then separated from the donor blood and sterilized to inactivate the virus. Next, the sterilized plasma is contacted with the protein A matrix. Alternatively, alternating columns can be used to capture IgG. The column can be washed and the eluted IgG goes to another column (see e.g. figure 2 ).
