Abstract

The invention discloses an LUKS (Linux Unified Key Setup) authentication chip circuit based on an FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) and a password recovery method thereof. The chip circuit is equipped with twelve modules of a control module, a password generation module, three user secret keys PBKDF2 modules, a user secret key selection module, an AES128 secret key extension module, an AES128 decryption module, a BRAM storage module, an anti-forensics combination module, a hash verification value PBKDF2 module and a comparison module. The password recovery method comprises the steps that an FPGA processor analyzes an encrypted LUKS mirror file, thereby obtaining data required for authentication; the processor writes the data required for authentication in the register of the control module; the processor sends a starting signal to the LUKS authentication chip circuit, and the chip circuit carries out password recovery; the processor starts the chip circuit, then monitors the state register in the control module of the chip circuit and obtains the information indicating whether authentication is finished or not and whether authentication is successful or not; after the processor monitors that the authentication is finished, if the authentication is successful, an authenticated and recovered password is output to a console; and if the authentication is failed, password recovery fail information is output.
