The design effect of a designed BIM model is presented on a client in the form of virtual reality. If a customer needs to modify the design, satisfactory parts are directly selected in a replacement part library to perform replacement modification of the original design, without the need of providing modification suggestions by way of human description, thereby reducing the trouble of design delay which may be caused due to ineffective communication. The modification intention of the customer is finally returned to designers in the form of modified visualization lightweight data corresponding to the model. The designers can visually understand the modification intention of the customer, modify the BIM model which is originally stored in a BIM central server according to the modification suggestions, and finally return the modified BIM model to the BIM central server to update the original BIM model. In this way, the way of oral communication between professionals and non-professionals is changed and interactive presentation of the communication intentions is conducted in a manner of visualization, thereby improving the communication efficiency and accuracy.
