DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) streaming media live broadcast system and method based on proxy server

A proxy server and streaming media technology, applied in the streaming media field, can solve problems such as the drop in the cache hit rate of the edge server, increase the load pressure on the backbone network, and frequently switch the bit rate, so as to reduce the number of switching times, optimize the server load, and improve the viewing quality. The effect of experience

Abstract

The invention provides a DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) streaming media live broadcast system and method based on a proxy server. The system comprises a DASH server, the proxy server and a client, wherein the proxy server is used for requesting video fragments from the DASH server, storing the video fragments, adding a code rate significance table, and combining video requests of the client; the client is used for sending a video fragmenting request to the proxy server; and the client selects the video fragments by using a code rate switching method in order to efficiently utilize and cache a current bandwidth. A novel network topology mode based on the proxy server is designed; a code stream switching method of the DASH live broadcast system adapting to the current bandwidth is provided for the client; and a dynamical caching method is provided at a proxy server end. Through adoption of the DASH streaming media live broadcast system and method, the problem that code streams are switched frequently in the DASH live broadcast system is solved, and load pressure of a network is lowered, so that the QoE (Quality of Experience) performance and network performance of a DASH protocol in a live broadcast environment application are improved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method in the field of streaming media, in particular to a proxy server-based DASH streaming media live broadcast system and method. Background technique [0002] The rapid development of mobile Internet has brought about the prosperity of video services, but compared with desktop devices, mobile video services need to solve the problem of unstable bandwidth. The traditional UDP-based streaming media transmission method limits a fixed bit rate, which greatly limits its use in mobile environments. In addition, the traditional UDP-based streaming media technology also faces many incompatible problems, such as NAT and firewall incompatibility. All of the above make UDP-based streaming technology an obsolete solution. A new HTTP-based technology came into being, which is MPEG-DASH (DynamicAdaptive Streaming over HTTP) egg paste. Since the release of MPEG-DASH (2011), many researchers have devoted themselves to improving the per...
