Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a soft handoff method and device used for a storage system. The method comprises the following steps of: responding to a soft handoff request, setting the data of a source end of soft handoff to be read only, and starting a process that the data is replicated to the target end of the soft handoff; on the source end, recording an update operation which aims at the data during a replication process period, and synchronously recording the update operation to the target end; responding to the completion of the replication process, and utilizing the synchronously recoded update operation to update the replicated data on the target end; and forbidding data access for the source end, and starting the data access for the target end.
