Abstract

The method combines low pass filter and a platform histogram, the rising edge and the falling edge of the histogram are judged according to a platform value, a major peak in the histogram is calculated, a gray interval for significant target information is kept, and the rest gray intervals are abandoned; and through histogram equalization treatment, an infrared image after contrast enhancement is obtained. The method of the invention can effectively enhance the infrared image contrast, the image quality is improved, and the method is simple and easy for engineering implementation.
