The method comprises the steps of performing postorder traversal on the cascade reservoir group to obtain an optimized sequence; running a dynamic planning algorithm by an initial solution according to any reservoir A in the optimized sequence to obtain an initial solution sequence of reservoir dispatching of the reservoir A, wherein the initial solution is reservoir capacity or a water level discrete quantity; based on the initial solution sequence, further optimizing the initial solution sequence by using continuous linear planning to obtain an optimized initial solution sequence; and taking the reservoir capacity or a water level value in the optimized initial solution sequence as power discharge of a dispatching decision, and updating outflow runoff of the reservoir A according to the power discharge of the dispatching decision, thereby finishing a reservoir dispatching decision, synthesized based on a reservoir dispatching rule, of the reservoir A. The algorithm is suitable for medium-long-term dispatching of the cascade reservoir group; an actual optimal solution can be obtained; and the solving time is shorter.
